Golf Exchange Adds 640 AM A Miami-Fort Lauderdale Syndication Partner

Golf Exchange presented by The Honda Classic, a two-hour golf talk radio program owned and operated by IGP Sports & Entertainment Group and heard from 9-11am Sunday mornings in South Florida the past eight years, has a new syndication affiliate in the South Florida market.

Beginning Sunday January 13, 2013, the show will begin airing on WMEN 640-AM in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market as well as ESPN 760 in the Palm Beach/Treasure Coast market.

"640 Sports is excited to be partnering with South Florida's #1 Golf show: Golf Exchange presented by The Honda Classic. 640 will air The Golf Exchange Sunday mornings at 9 for the entirety of 2013," said WMEN General Manager Steve Lapa.

Golf Exchange presented by The Honda Classic, which originates from ESPN 760 studios in West Palm Beach, has been syndicated in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market since 2009, initially on WAXY 790-AM for three years, and on WQAM 560-AM in 2012.

The program is hosted by Russ Evans, who has over 11 years of broadcasting experience in South Florida. It launched in January 2005 as a seasonal golf show titled 'Tee Time' in the West Palm Beach market on ESPN 760-WEFL. Program content includes coverage of tournament play on the PGA, LPGA, and Champions Tours, frequent interviews of touring pros, television analysts, and writers, and discussions of local golf events including charity functions and junior golf initiatives.

In 2008, IGP Sports & Entertainment Group took over ownership of the program and expanded the show's broadcast period to 52 weeks a year. The Honda Classic, a PGA TOUR event held at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, also assumed title sponsorship of the program in 2008. Current co-host and lead analyst Craig Dolch, a 30-year veteran covering sports in south Florida, joined the show full time in 2012.

Past interview guests have included Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Billy Casper, Annika Sorenstam, Nancy Lopez, Raymond Floyd, Nick Price, Dave Stockton, Joe Steranka, Deane Beman, Jim Flick, Kenny Perry, Butch Harmon, Tom Fazio, Larry Nelson, Pete Dye, Ian Poulter, Tim Rosaforte, Beth Daniel, Meg Mallon, David Leadbetter, Rocco Mediate, Morgan Pressel, Dr. Gary Wiren and Natalie Gulbis.

"It's been a thrill to host Golf Exchange these past 8 years," said Evans. "With the move to 640 Sports in 2013, I look forward to continuing to inform and entertain our South Florida golf listenership, from the Keys all the way up to Vero Beach, on a weekly basis."
