United Technologies Corporation Expands Honda Classic Commitment

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) - along with its business units Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky Aircraft and commercial brands Carrier, Kidde and Otis - have expanded their relationship with The Honda Classic. The group has become the tournament's second Founder's Club sponsor, joining Tire Kingdom on a sponsorship tier beneath the title sponsor, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

The sponsorship is a continuation of United Technologies' commitment to make a difference in the communities in which it operates, aligning with one of South Florida's most visible charity-generating sporting events and giving back to military personnel who are a deep part of its fiber.

United Technologies will continue its title sponsorship of the Patriots Outpost, a 7,000 square-foot hospitality tent overlooking the signature par-three 17th hole that is the cornerstone of Honda Classic's Military Appreciation program. Complimentary tickets will be available for Active Duty, Reservists, Retirees, their registered dependents, and Non-Retired Veterans for each day of the competition. As an added benefit, each honoree also has the ability to purchase up to two discounted guest tickets per day at $20. United Technologies volunteers will also host Military Appreciation Day on Thursday, Feb. 26 and complimentary lunch and snacks are provided each day.

New initiatives under the expanded relationship include an Adopt a Service Puppy Program, the Wounded Warriors Caddie Program, the We Salute our Heroes Wall, Care Package stations, and a donation to Birdies for the Brave based on the number of birdies made at the 17th hole during competition.

United Technologies will also collaborate with The Honda Classic on a number of philanthropic initiatives in the South Florida community, including Disabled Veterans Life Enhancement Programs, Golf for Vets with Disabilities, Golf for Visually Impaired Vets, and The Honda Classic's Birdies for Children program.

More than 25 percent of the combined United Technologies workforce in the West Palm Beach area consists of active duty reservists or veterans, and United Technologies employs more than 9,000 U.S. veterans and current members of the National Guard and Army Reserve across its business units.

Beyond the sponsorship of the Patriots Outpost at the Honda Classic, United Technologies is committed to supporting veteran's organizations in communities throughout the United States. These organizations promote and honor the sacrifices of veterans, provide direct support to meet the needs of injured service members, and support organizations that help veterans and their families as they transition from military service to civilian life.

The 2015 Honda Classic will be played Feb. 23, 2015 - March 1, 2015 with Russell Henley defending his title. The tournament awarded a record $2.55 million in charitable contributions in 2014, the eighth straight year the event has increased its charitable distribution to South Florida Children's Charities. The tournament also attracted 193,052 confirmed spectators between Tuesday's practice round and Sunday's dramatic finish that saw Henley prevail in a four-man playoff over Rory McIlroy, Ryan Palmer and Russell Knox.
